The Burning Crusade Classic: 5 things to do at the beginning

The Burning Crusade was a key part of World of Warcraft and is now headed for Classic. Here are some things you can do at launch. It's official, but no one was surprised when Blizard announced that The Burning Crusade expansion was headed for the classic World of Warcraft. Players are already debating what to do next, and it's not just a matter of getting into Outland, hitting new dungeons and raids, and conquering the flying mountain. There is also a lot of hype on the technical side regarding server changes and whether characters should make it through classic WoW.

While discussions on the next steps for individual characters continue to rage on the various Discord servers and Blizzard forums, some events, items, and activities are closer to the top of everyone's list. Once you've opened up the Dark Portal, there are a few things you'll want to do without question and without debate, and here they are.

Go through the dark portal

Badlands is an area that is not very popular in the Classic version as there is not much to do before the update. However, for players who care about knowledge and attention, it is interesting that the zone is inhabited by a variety of demons, corrupt animals and Blood Elves. In other words, things that seem to be in Outland.

Warlocks and warriors have quests in this zone, but other players often cannot even get a close look at the Dark Portal until they have walked through it. Joining the pre-update activities is a great way to get excited to actually make your way to a new continent, a signal that tuberculosis has officially begun.

Watch the Corrupted Reaver

It's not enough that the infamous Fel Reaver is around 20 stories tall and makes a booming noise as it treads the Hellfire Peninsula, he still has an amazing talent for stalking people. Right after the expansion starts, most players will focus on what's new in the new zone and its accompanying quests, attack progress, flying mounts, and the road to Shattrath City. No matter how often players hear this warning, it seems as if they will never learn it.

Choose the Outland faction

Upon arrival in Shattrath City, you must go through a city tour ending with a choice between Aldor or Soothsayers. Watch out for this as you might end up on the wrong side of your own faction. The Aldor are usually tied to the Alliance and the Scryers are allied to the Horde, but don't let this affect your choice too much.

Most players choose depending on the equipment each faction offers. Your character will gain reputation with the Sha'tar faction, so you still have access to regular loot anyway.

Buy a flying mount

Of course, be prepared to spend some WOW Classic Gold, just like with a ground mount. Expert riding costs 250 grams, and if you want an epic flying mount, craft riding costs 5,000 grams. Fortunately, Blizzard has made it easier to earn money with TBC. There are places in Outland that only a flying mountain can reach anyway, and who doesn't love another mountain, no matter what its shape? The dispute over whether or not to "break the game" with flying mounts is never going to go away, and these are so cool we don't care.

Begin Dragonmaw missions

You can't get the epic flying mount right away, but you can start the grinding rep quest. A lone Blood Elf named Mordenai wanders in the wastelands of Shadowmoon Valley. May start with the Void Wing Ally quest chain, provided you meet the conditions.

Depending on how fast you can grind up to 70 which is required for this quest, and the level you should be at anyway in Shadowmoon Valley, players can start a long quest chain to get this mount. The Netherwing Drake is one of the coolest flying mounts in Outland, provided you can crush your reputation with the correct faction and pay for both expert and craftsman riding.
