The ACNH update adds dreamy and fireworks displays

The new Animal Crossing: New Horizons update adds two new features to the Nintendo Switch game: Summer Fireworks Shows and Dreams - the ability to visit other players' islands in a sleepy state.

The free update to Animal Crossing: New Horizons is released on July 30.

On the players' islands, Animal Crossing fireworks take place every Sunday evening at 19:00. Players can attend the ceremony by exchanging Animal Crossing Bells for lottery tickets in the plaza, which will unlock "various holiday items," Nintendo said in a press release. Players can even use custom design patterns to create fireworks displays.

Dreaming also returns to Animal Crossing with a second summer update. In New Horizons, players just need to take a nap in their home.

"When you fall asleep, you enter a strange land where Luna greets you," said Nintendo. “Luna offers visits to other islands as a dream and with her help you can share your island with others. He will assign those who share their island a "dream address" that players can trade and use to visit other islands in their sleep. "

Nintendo notes that what happens in dreams stays in dreams: "Nothing is permanent because nothing you do is saved, so be sure to get content to your heart's content," the company said.

Dreaming was introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. In Nintendo 3DS, players had to visit Dream Suite, run by Luna, to go on a "dream walk".

Finally, Nintendo is giving players a way to better insure the island. The new island backup service will automatically upload saved data from the islands and users to the internet at certain times, Nintendo said. The island backup feature is independent of the Switch's cloud storage feature via Nintendo Switch Online.
