Take us back in time by reviewing everything we know about the characters of Assassin's Creed: Valhalla ahead of the game's launch.

Eivor

Eivor is what you will play as in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and is the main character. Can be played as male or female, just like in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, the story of the game will be identical regardless of the gender you choose.

Also known as the Kiss of the Wolf, Eivor leads her Norman clan from Norway in search of new land, resources, and a place to call their own. They land in Anglo-Saxon England and create a new settlement. They are also introduced to the secrets of the Hidden and given the Hidden Blade to use against their enemies. Eivor had a rough childhood that shaped much of their future, losing their parents Varin and Rasta and adopted by King Styrbjorn.

Sigurd Styrbjornson

Sigurd is the older brother of Eivor, through Eivor's adoption by King Styrbjorn. Sigurd, along with Basim, are the main characters behind much of what goes on in the Assassin's Creed: Valhalla plot. While Eivor was invading southern England, Sigurd embarked on a journey to invade the distant lands of the East. There he found more than he expected and met a Hidden One named Basim Ibn Ishaq. These two went back to Eivor's side and presented Eivor with their Hidden Blade.

Basim Ibn Ishaq

Basim, a member of the Assassin's predecessor, is one of the Hidden. He befriended Sigurd and traveled to Norway to meet Eivor and encourage them to lead the Normans from their ancestral lands to England. He also introduced Eivor to some of the secrets of the Hidden, and told them of the Templar conspiracy to control both England and the Normans.

King Styrbjorn

Although he was not Eivor's father by blood, Styrbjorn easily stepped into the role after learning of Varin and Rosta's deaths. He adopted Eivor and raised them with their son Sigurd. Styrbjorn raised Eivor and Sigurd to be strong warriors of the Raven clan, but a gulf developed between the king and Sigurd that ultimately saw his son emigrate to Constantinople.
